So sorry for the long wait, but I have been enjoying myself so much lately that I have not had a chance to write. But here it is: The remaining part of my adventures up north. The last two days in Scotland were spent going on daytrips.

The first daytrip was organized by Hairy-Coo tours which was once again a tip-based tour. We drove past a beautiful Scottish countryside after passing the outskirts of Edinburgh where allegedly Sean Connery grew up. Our tour guide was once again very enthusiastic and was full of interesting facts of all the sites we visited. On that day we visited the Wallace monument, we saw Stirling castle from afar and we saw some Hairy Coo’s before we moved on to Daun Castle where parts of the Monty Pythons quest for the holy grail was filmed. So, after listening to some interesting stories from the audio guide we continued to Loch Katrine where I had a lovely hike but (regrettably) got back to the bus about 20 minutes late. Oops! I guess I was so engrossed in enjoying nature and its wonders that I lost track of time. Luckily the bus was still waiting for me and everybody took it pretty well. After Loch Katrine we went back to the city and I decided to step in early enough so I would be well rested for the trip of my last day in Scotland.
The second daytrip was more expensive but the tour guide didn’t tell his stories nearly as convincing and entertaining as the tour guide of the ‘Hairy coo tour’. We visited Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond and the Glengoyne whiskey distillery. I enjoyed all the visits, but apart from an American and Spanish lady I met on the tour I had the impression that all the other people on the tour were kind of annoying, old and way too testy. They made snide remarks when I was a few minutes late to the bus which annoyed me. But I was able to set that beside me fairly easily by basically ignoring them for the rest of the day. After this tour I quickly shoved a pizza into my mouth before I hastened to the train station in order to get to my bus, leaving from Glasgow, in time. Astoundingly the bus was very late and upon arrival turned out to be a normal coach instead of on with beds and it seemed to have a bad engine as well. It simply refused to start for at least 20 minutes. So by the time I got back in Cardiff I was completely shattered. I decided to just get into bed and sleep it off. Upon wakeup I called straight home to catch up with my parents and brothers. Since all the walking in Scotland really fatigued me I decided to just chill for a couple of days to recuperate enough to enjoy the London trip with Katie after which my time in the UK would have nearly come to an end. So the next chapter will undoubtedly be the last in my saga of adventures in the UK. But fear not I will then start to write my adventures in South Africa.
